Tadashi Goto biography
TADASHI GOTO was born in 1976 and grew up listening to classical music. He began playing the organ at the age of 5 and was composing by the time he was 10 years old. He joined the Yamaha Original Concert in Japan where he met YOSHIHIKO UJIHARA (X-JAPAN) a professional guitarist. UJIHARA, taught TADASHI GOTO synthesizers oriented compositions and progressive rock. He also met DONNY SCHWEKENDIEK a professional jazz pianist who taught him jazz rock.
In 2000-2001 while he was in Newcastle, NSW, Australia as an English grammar postgraduate student he revisited his compositions he wrote while he was a child and recorded some demos. Upon his return to Japan he finished writing the demos and submitted them to Musea Records and his first solo album "Soundscape" was released in 2005 on Musea France/Intermusic Japan.
TADASHI GOTO follow up release "Innervisions" was released in 2008 on Prog Rock Records. On this release he combines the extraordinary talents of CHRIS POLAND, BRETT GARSED, TY TABOR, TONY LEVIN, TONY FRANKLIN, MATT BISSONETTE, JOSEPH PATRICK MOORE, RANDY GEORGE, SEAN CONKLIN, JOSE BERNARDO and MARCO AHRENS.
TADASHI GOTO is currently in the studio to begin his new project. This time he has hired some vocalists. The release date is yet to be determined and will most likely be released as an EP or on I-Tunes. MICHELLE YOUNG and WENDY STARLAND will handle the vocals and RICHARD FORTUS (GN'R), CHRIS BROADERICK (MEGADETH), STEVE ROTHERY (MARILLION) are among the special guests anticipated on his new project.
Soundscape is a solo release by Japanese multi instrumentalist Tadashi Goto.
Though the music presented in this album was first composed and recorded in 2001, when the musician was living in Australia, it took 4 years to finally being released by Musea.
The music here is purely instrumental, with emphasis on the guitar and keyboards. The use of a drum machine, like it often happens, does take a whole lot of interest, tending to hurt the music deeply, as it sounds way much artificial.
Sometimes in the vein of other Japanese outfits such as Brain Salad, Kenso, Side Steps or Igzit-Nine, Sonicscape twists and twirls in the paths of Jazz-Rock with progressive sparkles thrown in the mix.
Sometimes challenging and complex, other times more introspective and calm...
